In contrast, while creating interesting test formats, reducing the number of assessments, and increasing assessment periods can be important considerations in assessment practices, they do not address the fundamental requirement of assessments to accurately and consistently measure student learning. Therefore, the focus on validity and reliability highlights a deeper, more critical challenge in assessment practices that directly impacts educational effectiveness.
